The Collection is a hybrid gallery and retail store in the heart of Soho in Central London that curates rare and limited edition collections of clothing, footwear and accessories. The store provides an experience where collectors and enthusiasts can purchase items on sale and those who are just curious, can come in to browse the store and exhibition-like displays of the store’s most coveted items from around the world.

What started as a series of concept drawings provided by the agency designing the interior, ALMA Floor used the visuals to manufacture, supply and fit the leather floor tiles.

Working from completely stripped out premises, the ALMA Floor team conducted a site survey from which a sub floor specification was determined, suitable for the site conditions.

After the site survey was conducted, manufacturing of the leather floor tiles commenced at ALMA’S London factory. Collaborating with on-site contractors, a time allocation for installation was agreed.

The team then proceeded to produce and fit the leather tiles, covering and protecting the floor while the last remaining units were fitted on top.

The black crocodile embossed flooring leather is processed to withstand high-traffic areas, making it perfect for the Soho store.

Once all of the fit-out work was completed, the team came back to remove the cover to clean and prepare the floor for handover and store opening.

The black croc floor tiles set the tone for the premium products on display and sale. With a crisp, white gallery-like interior, the tiles provided the perfect contrast and became a talking point for those who stepped into the shop, gathering a huge social media interest.
